Australia and New Zealand commit to expanding technology and intelligence sharing cooperation
The armies of Australia and New Zealand announce "Anzac Plan" to expand cooperation in technology and intelligence sharing.
According to local news reports, the "Anzac Plan" aims to strengthen bilateral relations as well as military intelligence and technology sharing for military operations between the two countries' armies.
Australian Army Commander Lieutenant General Simon Stuart said that the agreement would further strengthen the bond between the two countries.
Stuart said, "The Anzac Plan aims to ensure that we can cooperate and integrate between our two countries and work together with our partners in the region in the most appropriate way for today's conditions."
Anzac is an abbreviation of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, which was formed by the first letters of the words "Australian" and "New Zealand" during the beginning of World War I.
Anzacs fought against the Ottoman Army in the British Army during the Gallipoli Campaign in 1915.
"Anzac Day" is celebrated as the anniversary of the landing of Australian and New Zealand soldiers on April 25, 1915, in Gallipoli"
