Additionally, British singer-songwriter Olivia Dean was honored with the Best New Artist award, proudly acknowledging her immigrant roots in her acceptance speech. The ceremony also included a significant moment for Cher, who, after receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award, mistakenly presented the Best Record award to the late soul artist Luther Vandross, instead of recognizing Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s song “Luther.”
